Throughout my exploration of the Kansai region of Japan, I reacted to the way that organization, order, and  systemization permeated the culture from the planning of a huge city down to an individual piece of sushi. Precision at every scale led me to explore the relationship between large and small details, specially through research of the Japanese concept of space. Here I explored my experiences of wa, ba, tokoro, and ma- relational space, learning and engaging space, location, and negative space. 間
